Marc Van Cleemput started his music studies at the music academy of Anderlecht.  Later he took lessons at the Music Conservatory of Brussels.  He studied composition with Victor Legley and Peter Cabus.  A present, he teaches at the Music Academy of Dilbeek and the Lemmens Institute in Leuven.

In his compositions, Marc Van Cleemput tries to achieve as much development as possible  from a minum number of elements.  Often, the rhythmic undertone plays an important role in his works.
