Buonanni, Nicholas

Nicholas Buonanni (b. 1981)

Nicholas Buonanni is a free-lance flutist, teacher, and arranger currently living in Michigan. He is a Performance Fellow with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, and has performed with the Chautauqua Symphony, Lansing Symphony, Flint Symphony, and Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestras. Nicholas was named winner of the 2017 Donald Peck International Flute Soloist Competition, and was runner-up for the 2019 National Flute Association Alto Flute Artist Competition, 2019 Kujala International Piccolo Competition, and 2018 International Alto Flute Competition. Additionally, Nicholas has been a winner of the National Flute Association Convention Performer and Master Class Performer Competitions in both 2017 and 2018, which led to several performances at the national conventions in Minneapolis, MN and Orlando, FL. As a soloist he has performed with the Michigan State University Symphony Band and Chamber Winds, as well as the University of Central Florida Wind Ensemble and Chamber Orchestra. His flute choir arrangements have been performed at the National Flute Association Convention, Florida Flute Fair, and by flute choirs internationally.
