Emmanuel - Sonata, Op. 11 Flute, Clarinet, and Piano - CM263
This edition is a reprint of the 1929 publication of Maurice Emmanuel's Sonate, Op. 11 for Flute, Clarinet, and Piano. Emmanuel’s Sonate, Op. 11 was written in 1907, and is dedicated "à R. et M. D'HARCOURT" (Raoul and Marguerite d'Harcourt). He was a teacher at the Schola Cantorum from 1907-12, during which time Marguerite studied counterpoint with him. Raoul and Marguerite were French ethnomusicologists focused on pre-Columbian and Andean music, particularly the Inca musical tradition and its surviving forms.
Measure and rehearsal numbers have been added, along with a brief foreward. Notably, the previously cramped four-page flute and clarinet parts have been expanded to five pages each. These updates make this edition far more rehearsal friendly than any other version available. In three movements: Allegro con spirito, Adagio, and Allegro molto e leggierissimo.
