Grigoraș Dinicu - Hora Staccato for One or Two Flutes and Piano, arranged and edited by Ervin Monroe. Grigoraș Dinicu was a composer-violinist whose music centered around ethnic and gypsy themes. From the arranger: "This piece, Hora Staccato, is one of his most popular works and was originally written of course for the violin. Over the years I have arranged a number of solo flute pieces for two flutes. On one occasion when James Galway was visiting us in Detroit, I mentioned that I wanted to arrange a piece for him and his wife Jeanne." Although it can be played in its original form for flute and piano using this edition, the piece really shines when performed as a flute duet with piano accompaniment.
