Joahim Andersen - Six Morceaux de Salon, Op. 24, for Flute and Piano. The Six Morceaux de Salon by Danish flutist and composer Joachim Andersen are a set of six Romantic-era character pieces for flute and piano, written in the elegant, lyrical style associated with the nineteenth-century salon tradition. Andersen was a celebrated virtuoso who began performing publicly as a teenager, later becoming a founding member and principal flutist of the Berlin Philharmonic before returning to Copenhagen, where he established himself as a conductor and teacher. Though originally published as two separate suites of three pieces each, here they have been merged into a single edution. Includes: Suite No. 1 (Chant Pastorale, Reverie, Alla Mazurka) and Suite No. 2 (Barcarolle, Berceuse, Babillard).
