Tarantella, Op. 20 by Ludwig Milde, arranged for Bass Clarinet and Piano by Matt Johnston. The name Ludwig Milde is sure to be known by all bassoonists thanks to his great output of compositions for the instrument. Most well-known are the two volumes of etudes he composed, covering a wide range of difficulty and showcasing his familiarity with the instrument. Born in Prague, not much is known about his life, however he performed and taught throughout his life, not only the bassoon, but also piano. In addition to his etudes, he also composed a number of short concert pieces, such as this Tarantella. For this edition, the entire work has been transposed into the key of G minor to better suit the range and key of the bass clarinet.
