This edition is a reprint Wesley La Violette's Filigree for Flute Quartet. Wesley La Violette (1894–1978) was an American composer, theorist, educator, and writer whose career bridged traditional classical forms and early 20th-century modernism. Born in Saint James, Minnesota, he studied at Northwestern University and the Chicago Musical College, where he later taught and earned a doctorate in music.
