Tiana Molina

Tiana Molina is currently finishing up her undergrad of her bachelors of music in performance and bachelors of music in music education at the University of Arizona studying under Dr Jackie Glazier and is currently student teaching. She has performed in various types of ensembles including Mariachi Arizona in the school of music, locally and outside of Arizona. She has performed with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and with the RISE Diversity Film Orchestra in Los Angeles, California at the Eastwood Scoring Stage in Warner Bros. Studios which she will be returning to for a second year. She also gigs locally around Tucson with a dance band called OnesAll on tenor saxophone.

Molina has a strong passion for teaching and enjoys sharing her love of music with her students. She has taught with the New Horizons Band Program, taught private lessons, and has taught children with special learning needs. Molina is currently Student Teaching 5th and 6th grade band in Tucson. As an aspiring composer and arranger, her Hispanic heritage has heavily influenced her writing. She started playing guitar at a very young age but has never had the opportunity to play with a mariachi until this year which has not only opened up many performance opportunities, but has also been the source for her inspiration. She hopes to continue to gain inspiration not only from her own culture but from others as well for future compositions and arrangements.

Tiana Molina estaba terminando sus estudios de licenciatura en música con especialización en interpretación y en educación musical en la Universidad de Arizona, con la Dra. Jackie Glazier, y actualmente realiza prácticas docentes. Ha actuado con diversos conjuntos, incluyendo el Mariachi Arizona en la escuela de música, tanto localmente como fuera de Arizona. Ha actuado con la Orquesta Sinfónica de Tucson y con la Orquesta de Cine RISE Diversity en Los Ángeles, California, en el Eastwood Scoring Stage de los estudios Warner Bros., al que regresará por segundo año. También se presenta en Tucson con una banda de baile llamada OnesAll, tocando el saxofón tenor.

Molina tiene una gran pasión por la enseñanza y disfruta compartiendo su amor por la música con sus alumnos. Ha impartido clases con el New Horizons Band Program, clases particulares y ha enseñado a niños con necesidades educativas especiales. Actualmente, Molina es maestra de banda de quinto y sexto grado en Tucson.

Como aspirante a compositora y arreglista, su herencia hispana ha influido enormemente en su escritura. Comenzó a tocar la guitarra desde muy joven, pero nunca había tenido la oportunidad de tocar con un mariachi hasta este año, lo que no solo le ha abierto muchas oportunidades para tocar su música, sino que también ha sido su fuente de inspiración. Espera seguir inspirándose no solo en su propia cultura, sino también en otras para sus futuras composiciones y arreglos
