Kim, Sinae
Sinae Kim (b. 1972)
Composer and pianist Sinae Kim was born in Seoul, Korea (1972) and grew up in Korea. She started studying piano and cello at the age of seven, and began performing in church. She studied church music and composition at Chongshin University where she received a bachelor’s degree in music composition in 1995. She attributes her Christian faith and Asian heritage as major influences in her compositions. Kim’s music has been performed throughout the United States, Asia and South America. She completed a master’s degree in composition from the University of Louisville, and her doctorate of musical arts degree at the University of Maryland.
