La Montaine - Canonic Variations for Flute and Clarinet, Opus 47 - FRD
This new edition of John La Montaine's Canonic Variations for Flute and Clarinet, Opus 47, has been newly re-engraved and includes an extra copy of the score (One for each player, or also for adjudication). Written in the style of 12-tone serialism, these duets are an interesting exercise in what can be done with the theoretical manipulation of the tone rows used. While not as tuneful as some of John La Montaine's other compositions, they are a good example of his experimentation with other compositional styles.
