Family by Gay Kahkonen for Solo Flute Quartet and Flute Choir. Premiered by the Under One Sky Flute Choir with direction by Dan Parasky at the 2025 Annual Convention of The National Flute Association in Atlanta, Georgia. From the composer: "This charming suite was commissioned by my dear friend, Evonne Henry, and dedicated to her family. Each of five inner movement reflects the relationship between Evonne and her husband, or a special quality of one of their four children. The piece is framed by two additional movements, holding the family together at the center. The work may be performed in its entirety, or any of the inner movements may be performed separately. " In seven movements: Beginning, Love Song - Evonne & Mike, Jay, Bill, Adrianne, Andy, and Forever.
