Founded by renowned American flutist and Detroit Symphony principal Ervin Monroe in the early 1970s, Little Piper Publishing began as a small company devoted primarily to publishing flute music. Monroe drew upon his extensive experience as a performer, teacher, arranger, and composer to develop a catalog that included solo flute repertoire, educational materials, chamber music, and arrangements for flute ensembles. Over the decades, Little Piper grew into an internationally distributed source of flute music, continuing to feature Monroe’s own compositions and arrangements alongside works by a wide range of composers and editors. As of 2026, Little Piper Publishing is owned by ALRY Publications.
