"Rosamunde" was a play by Helmina von Chézy, premiered in Vienna in 1823, with incidental music composed by Franz Schubert. In addition to the oft-performed overture, the remainder of the music from the play consists of 10 movements. Additionally, Schubert's String Quartet No. 13 is often referred to as the "Rosamunde" Quartet, because the second movement is material taken from the Entr'acte for the incidental music. Arranged here, the overture is a delightful work and one of Schubert's most well-known works.
