Belgian composer Frans Corneel D'Haeyer (1889 – 1971) studied music at the Royal Flemish Conservatory in Antwerp under Flor Alpaerts, Albert De Schacht, Florent Tillemans and Peter Saenen. This Lied for English Horn and Piano is dedicated to oboist Gaston Decamps and was originally published by Metropolis Music Publishers in 1978. This initial publication also included alternate parts for clarinet, alto saxophone and bassoon, which are included in this set.
