Joseph Bodin de Boismortier was a French baroque composer who contributed greatly to the flute repertoire, with his various solos and ensembles for flutes. As is evidenced in his Six Concertos for Flute Flutes (Op. 15), Boismortier was the first French composer to use the Italian concerto form.
