Georges Bizet - Farandole from L'Arlésienne Suite No. 2, arranged for Flute Choir by Ervin Monroe. Georges Bizet (1838–1875) composed the incidental music for Alphonse Daudet’s play L’Arlésienne, written in 1872 from which the Farandole printed here is the celebrated final movement of the L’Arlésienne Suite No. 2 for orchestra. The Farandole takes its name from a traditional Provençal dance associated with southern France, particularly the region around Provence and the Camargue.
