Leroy Osmon presents Kemah: In the Face of the Wind for winds and percussion. Osmon's blend of wind Americana (Sousa, Copeland, and Foster) is paired with the sounds of Mexican bands and the harmonic complexity of Yucatan classical music. Kemah, which in the language of the Native American Karankawa quite literally means 'wind in my face', is an extended tone poem that plays with the concept of wind - with wind instruments, in the various musical impressions of wind throughout, and tongue-in-cheek with the addition of a wind machine to the percussion section.
