Leroy Osmon presents Fantasies for Winds and Percussion. The Fantasies for Winds and Percussion was composed in 1973 and received its first performance in the Spring of 1974 at the Texas UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest by 9th-grade students from my the composer's middle school band. This work is part of a series designed to introduce young musicians to contemporary/avant-garde concepts and musical styles. There is a strong influence in this work, and all others in this series, from the music of Charles Ives.
