Some of Felix Mendelssohn's earliest compositions include a set of 12 string symphonies which he composed between the ages of 12 and 14. Coming from a wealthy family, a private orchestra often premiered his works at chamber concerts held in his home. The Sinfonia No. 4, arranged for flute orchestra by Shaul Ben-Meir, is originally in the key of C minor but has been transposed up a whole step for this arrangement. In three movements: Grave-Allegro, Andante, and Allegro vivace.

Instrumentation:

  • 2 C Flutes
  • Alto Flute (or Flute 3)
