Lilacs! by Cynthia Folio for Flute Alone. From the composer: "I was invited to write and record a composition in honor of the seventieth birthday of my dissertation advisor and long-time mentor, Robert D. Morris. My tribute is this solo flute piece, Lilacs!, an homage to his jazz-inspired composition, Not Lilacs! My piece uses part of the “head” of his piece, in inversion, and incorporates some of the complex serial techniques from his original."
