Centuria exhibits all of the factors which have made James Swearingen such a popular composer of original works for band, such as intelligent, idiomatic writing for each instrument, great playability, singable themes, rhythmic vitality, interesting percussion parts and, in short, an uncanny understanding of the school concert band and student musicians. Very highly recommended.

Here it has been transcribed by Japanese composer Akira Toda for traditional British-style brass band. In addition to the parts typically found in these ensembles, transposed parts are provided for suitable performance by instruments of a standard symphonic band.
