Klezmer Rondos for Flute and Chamber Orchestra by Paul Schoenfeld (formerly Schoenfield). Written for flutist Carol Wincenc in 1989 on commission from the National Endowment Consortium Commission Grant, Klezmer Rondos was intended to portray the typical eastern European klezmer style as a concert work in Western classical instrumentation. The piece was revised in 1995 for its premiere by the New York Philharmonic and became a concerto for flute, tenor, and symphony orchestra.
