On January 1st 2002, euro banknotes and coins replaced national currencies in 12 EU countries. Since then, the eurozone has increased to its current size of 28 member countries with the accession of Croatia on July 1st 2013. To commemorate the entry of the euro, Guy Cuyvers wrote “Little Europe, where each of the 12 countries are reflected in their typical musical language. Different rhythms and tonalities give each country the flavour of an anthem. This composition can of course be played as an entire suite, as tonalities succeed one another in a logical order. However, if you prefer to perform it as a smaller suite, you can choose some countries in a random order or you can order each country separate as well by contacting us through email.
