Paul Taffanel - Françoise de Rimini, Fantaisie for Flute and Piano, edited by Ervin Monroe. Paul Taffanel (1844–1908) composed a number of fantasies for flute and piano based on themes from popular operas of the time. This Fantaisie was written in 1884 and is based on the music from Ambroise Thomas's opera "Françoise de Rimini." It demonstrates his ability to write music that features the best solo qualities of the flute.
