Serenade (Ständchen: "Leise flehen meine Lieder") by Franz Schubert, arranged for Flute Choir by Ervin Monroet. Franz Schubert (1797–1828) was an Austrian composer whose music bridged the Classical and Romantic eras, celebrated for its expressive melodies, rich harmonies, and remarkable sensitivity to lyrical form. His Serenade (“Leise flehen meine Lieder”), D. 957, No. 4, was composed in 1828 as part of Schwanengesang, a collection of songs published posthumously, and sets a poem by Ludwig Rellstab in which a lover serenades his beloved by moonlight, accompanied by a gently lilting piano figure that evokes the sound of a guitar.

  • Alto Flute (or Flute 5)
