Greensleeves for One or Two Flutes and Piano (or Harp), arranged by Ervin Monroe. From the arranger: "The melody Greensleeves is one of the oldest folksongs that we sing and perform today. This set of variations was inspired by a work for recorder written around the 1600s. This piece is composed 'to a ground,' which was a technique used by composers in teh 1600s of writing musical variations over a baseline and/or harmonic passage that was repeated over and over throughout the work. In my rendition, I have added a completely new second flute part, as well as new variations, and have edited it extensively in order to showcase the versatility of the modern-day flute."
