The Land of Make Believe for Flute Choir, by Phyllis Avidan Louke. The Land of Make Believe, commissioned by Groton Hill Music on behalf of the Groton Hill Flute Orchestra and Nicole O'Toole (Director), is through-composed, written in three sections describing an imaginary visit to three different groups of animals: Elephants, Dolphins, and Squirrels. The musical visit to each animal is preceded by a brief Promenade Theme in C Major and 5/4 meter at a stately tempo, as an homage to Modest Mussorgky’s Picture at an Exhibition.
