Friedrich Burgmüller (1806 - 1874) was a German pianist and composer. Most of his life however he lived and worked in Paris (France). His music can generally be described as light-hearted. His music for the ballet 'La Peri' is considered the highlight from his repertoire. Today, Burgmüller is mainly known for his piano compositions.
