Dvorak (arr. Kirkpatrick) - The Noon Witch (Polednice) for Flute Choir
Antonin Dvorak’s symphonic poem The Noon Witch (Polednice) was inspired by a poem penned by 19th century Czech poet Karel Jaromir Erben. In Czech folklore, the Noon Witch is a being that comes after children who are naughty. This flute choir arrangement by Linda Kirkpatrick includes four of the themes, opening with the children playing, the noon witch approaching the mother, the witch cavorting around the mother and child, and the arrival of the father at home.
