Watté, Bart
Bart Watté was born in Gent (Belgium) in 1979. He studied clarinet with Eddy Vanoosthuyse in the “Lemmensinstituut” College of Music in Leuven and graduated with the highest distinctions for both his Master’s and Specialisation Degrees. He followed masterclasses with Robert Spring, Luis Rossi, Howard Klug, Anthony Pay, Thomas Friedli and Wenzel Fuchs.
Next to his main occupation as solo clarinetist in the world famous “Royal Band of the Belgian Guides”, he is a much appreciated chamber musician, guest soloist, arranger, freelancer, private teacher and orchestral coach. His ever growing passion for music eventually drew him to composing and conducting. His compositions, though originating in classical/romantic traditions, are influenced by an array of styles, from film music to folk and electronic music.
