Scott Miller

Scott Miller is a freelance bassoonist, a professional reed-maker, and a bassoon instructor. He is an active orchestral and chamber musician, appearing regularly with professional and community ensembles in Winnipeg and the surrounding region. He has appeared as a soloist with the Magnolia Chamber Orchestra (MS), the Louisiana Sinfonietta (LA), and for the Twisted Oaks Music Festival (LA). He has taught bassoon at Nicholls State University and the University of Louisiana, and maintains a private studio of bassoon students in Winnipeg. Scott earned his DMA from Louisiana State University and holds degrees from Florid State University (BM), and the University of Oregon (MM). His primary teachers have included Gabriel Beavers, Steve Vacchi, Jeff Keesecker, and Kim Woolly.
