Virginia Broffitt Kunzer (b. 1981)

The American flutist Dr. Virginia Brofitt Kunzer is the Associate Professor of Flute at Auburn University, the Principal Flute of the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, and a founding member of the Pangaea Chamber Players. She previously served as faculty at Oklahoma State University and Western Illinois University and was a member of the Camerata Woodwind Quintet. She has also held orchestral positions in the Fort Wayne Philharmonic and Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, and is a past first prize winner of the National Flute Association’s Young Artist Competition. Dr. Brofitt has established a successful and diverse career as a teacher, soloist, orchestral musician, and chamber musician, with concerts and performance masterclasses held throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. A native of Iowa City, Iowa, Dr. Brott holds degrees from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Dr. Brofitt is a Miyazawa Performing Artist.
