Sergei Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet" is a ballet he originally composed in 1938. Although political tensions during this time period led for the ballet to be largely forgotten at the time, it has been revived many times since the premiere. The music has become some of Prokofiev's most well-known work and was reworked into three suites which are frequently performed. The "Dance of the Knights" comes from Act I, Scene 2, and is also known as "Montagues and Capulets. Here, it has been arranged for flute ensemble by Shaul Ben-Meir.
