Čart remained in Frederick’s service for more than two decades, accompanying the court and its celebrated orchestra as it moved first to Rheinsberg and eventually to Berlin. The ensemble became one of Europe’s foremost musical establishments, distinguished by the presence of such prominent musicians as Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Johann Joachim Quantz. Despite his association with this important musical circle, only a small portion of Čart’s compositions has survived.
